Kalam Warrior – Watercolour

A serious moment for this young Kalam warrior, from Simbai, Madang Province, Papua New Guinea. Kalam people are famous for the exquisite green fruit beetle headdresses.

  1. Your artistic talent is amazing, Joycelin. I love the bold, vibrant colours and the way you’ve captured the facial expression on this one. You look so happy on the photo – as you should be, after creating such pieces of art! 🙂

  2. That is so amazing Wantok!

I still remember your shop Beyond Art back home in Port Moresby.

I haven’t seen this sort of painting back home, done a female artist like you in a long long long time.

I would love to purchase one of your paintings.

    Truly Authentic!

  3. Truly beautiful, thank u for sharing Joycelin! I have been out of comms for a long time, busy building our dream and it has finally paid off. So we are packing our house to relocate to our new home (a small farm in paradise)… My art has paid for some of the expenses of buying and selling, using it as trading material so yes, don’t ever stop creating! And besides, creating equals life equals living our purpose. Thank u for being on this journey with me since way back then, lotsa love and color 🙂
